Power of Attorney
Many
things can be conjured up in our minds when we hear the term “Power of Attorney” One of the most common misconceptions that
occurs, is that we would have complete “Control” over that person. This could not be further from the truth.
A
Power of Attorney is designed to help our loved one convey their wishes through
a third party. A Power of Attorney can
be Revoked at any time.
So
often is the case of the spouse who thinks they have everything set up in
regards to medical decisions/consent only to discover that the POA they possess
is financial
in nature and has nothing to do with medical.

There are many variants of POA’s out there. They can be incorporated into a variety of
documents.
As with ANY legal document, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you seek
proper legal counsel.
